It can happen to tuition, too.

College is riskier than it looks. 70% of schools report growth in withdrawals* while 1 out of 4 students who enroll don’t return for a second year.* With most schools not offering refunds after the fourth week of classes, college tuition insurance can be an effective way to protect against the financial loss of tuition, fees and other expenses when a forced medical withdrawal for a covered reason is the only option. Oh I wish I had known this was a thing. My daughter has struggled this year with extreme mental health illness and just quit school a few weeks ago due to the anxiety and overwhelming stress.

Would have been good for my DD (dear daughter) who crashed her brains out in bad bike accident (no helmet) and had to withdraw due to her injuries (concussion). You never know, and if paying the tuition will be a hardship, please consider the insurance.

Highly recommend [tuition insurance]. My Asperger/ADHD son Just had to withdraw mid semester due to mental health issues. GradGuard sells tuition insurance but you must purchase before classes start. I highly recommend purchasing when you consider the cost of tuition etc.
